Ingersoll: Could There Be a Second Civil War? Several Major Conditions Exist

Hello, readers.

I don’t want to sound overly negative or anything, but I think it’s important to be straightforward. I’m not one for sugarcoating. When things are grim, let’s just say it.

So, what’s the issue at hand?

Well, did you hear that…

where we are headed

A man was arrested on Sunday after being found with 200 “viable” explosives. His intended target was a Catholic Mass frequently attended by members of the Supreme Court. He’s shown animosity toward Christians, the Supreme Court, Jews, and ICE.

Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, attacks on churches have reportedly exceeded 500.

Following this arrest, a transgender individual who attempted to assassinate Judge Kavanaugh received a surprisingly light sentence from a Biden-appointed judge. Judge Deborah Boardman gave the would-be assassin just eight years—far less than the recommended 30 years, with the judge citing the individual’s transgender identity.

Authorities in Portland and Illinois have made some puzzling decisions lately. In Portland, members of Antifa commit acts of violence right in front of the police, yet they face no repercussions. They even seem to target conservative journalists and law enforcement.

You won’t catch the mainstream media having serious discussions about the implications of these arrests on the First Amendment. They often don’t regard these reporters as “real” journalists and dismiss Antifa as merely an “idea.”

In Chicago, the mayor publicly declared he wouldn’t remove violent illegal immigrants from the streets, suggesting the situation is already dangerous enough. He also promised to enhance anti-ICE measures in certain areas of the city. I wonder how those who live there feel about being called “sanctuaries.”

A few weeks back, another mayor in Illinois admitted that he warned illegal immigrants about impending ICE raids.

Meanwhile, after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, conservative groups like TPUSA have struggled to hold events on college campuses. University officials often cite “unique security concerns,” though the real reason seems unspoken—leftist groups are likely to resort to violence, and the administrators seem hesitant to intervene.

This is a stark contrast to how Democrats handled things previously. During lockdowns, they arrested pastors for holding prayers and even prosecuted people for social media posts. People were detained for taking their kids to parks during the pandemic, and they pursued legal action against Trump for a story many perceived as baseless. In a notable instance, New York Attorney Alvin Bragg escalated an expired misdemeanor to a felony in order to prosecute Trump.

Yet, he later dropped charges against a pro-abortion activist who assaulted a conservative journalist in plain view.

The connection between political favoritism and rising violence seems to be growing. Many of those who commit violent acts have been released by a reformist justice system that increasingly views itself as an oppressor rather than a protector.

So, where are we going from here? I’m not one to jump on the civil war bandwagon, but it’s becoming eerily plausible. Trust in educational institutions is severely eroded, and divisions in society are deepening. Some far-left factions act as if they can negate legislation simply because they believe they’re morally superior. And those in power do little to counter that perception.

This cycle keeps repeating, but each iteration appears to grow more violent, leading to more casualties and destruction.

President Reagan once stated America has been “one generation away from extinction.” I’m starting to wonder if that might be increasingly relevant now. The ongoing battle for culture, law, and justice in America seems riddled with delusion. There’s an evident favoring of criminals and a distortion of justice that prioritizes certain political viewpoints.

Contrastingly, others still hold on to core American values—fairness, free speech, faith, and success—that aren’t just jokes to them; they’re foundational principles.

Thus far, the hopeful idealism of many has prevented more drastic actions. Conservatives continue to document injustices occurring openly, perhaps naively hoping for authorities to step in, and yet they persist.

However, as I witness each murder and each lenient sentencing, along with the special treatment granted to more militant factions on the left, my hope is starting to fade into cynicism. This growing skepticism might fuel a strong desire to dismantle the faulty institutions responsible for this skewed form of justice.

So, what lies ahead? Personally, I don’t want to see federal troops storming our cities. But can we really ignore the possibility? Pam Bondi hinted at the potential for federal government intervention in Democrat-led cities. If that occurred, would local authorities or armed groups resist?

I genuinely don’t think those in leadership fully grasp how quickly tensions can escalate. As the saying goes, sometimes it only takes one incident to ignite conflict.

Some predict that further violence is unavoidable. I find myself in that camp. Others think it may evolve into more organized violence. I truly hope we can avoid that.

But one thing I feel certain about is that, regardless of the outcome, we’ll prevail in some sense. There are numerous reasons supporting this belief, and perhaps I’ll delve into them in a future piece.

For now, let’s just acknowledge there’s something significant about this so-called “change in atmosphere.” It feels real. People are exhausted by the nonsense, yearning for restoration, and their belief in this desire is growing.

The neo-Marxist ideologies that have infiltrated universities and permeated various sectors are increasingly at odds with mainstream American ideals. People once tolerated it, even if reluctantly. Now, they believe they have the means to reject it altogether. The respect is fading.

Let’s hold onto that hope. Regardless of whether the situation escalates or calms, I’m convinced it won’t remain this way for long.

The number of lives affected during this time remains uncertain, and I am definitely concerned.
