Country music singer-songwriter Ingrid Andres broke his silence for the first time on Thursday. 2024 MLB Home Run Derby.
33-year-old Andres has appeared “Viall File” This week's podcast discussed the fallout from her performance just before she acquired the field at Arlington's Globe Life Field in mid-July.

“The day began as something that seemed very – a normal day,” recalls Andres. “At that point, like I did on that day, I knew I was drinking, but I really loved the numbness I had, so it didn't stop.”

Four times Grammy Award nominee She explained that her recent split in breaking up with her first manager led her to start drinking too much in the months leading up to her performance. She admitted that in the state at the time, she hadn't noticed the crowds and fans' reactions at home, and believed that she “naked it.”
“It wasn't the case the day after I woke up, 'OK, this isn't like me. This isn't okay. I need help,'” Andres said. “I've never experienced anything like that before, so I didn't realize how viral the video was.”
Andres later admitted in a statement she shared on social media that she was “drunk” while singing the national anthem. She said on Thursday she shared a statement on the plane for rehabilitation.

“I'm not going to go to bullfighting — guys, I was drunk last night,” her statement read. “I'm checking out the facility today to get the help I need today. It wasn't last night. I apologize to MLB, all my fans, and to this country for my love for its production.
Andres said Thursday that he received an overwhelming amount of hatred and felt like an “American punch bag.” She joked that she had given some comfort in knowing that at least one thing could unite people because of the political situation at the time.
“I feel like there was a lot of anxiety in general because politics was really bubbled up back then, so if there is, it's fine to be an American punch bag.

Last month, Andres had the opportunity to redeem herself and performed “The Star Spit Banner.” NHL Games In Colorado. She also released a new single earlier this week.
She said Thursday she felt ready to return after spending rehab and time with her family at her Colorado home.
“I spent a lot of time with my family and then I was like, 'I think it's time to come out again.' ”
