Ingrid Lewis-Martin, an aide to Mayor Adams, is set to encounter additional charges: sources

Ingrid Lewis Martin, a seasoned advisor to Mayor Eric Adams, is anticipated to face additional charges soon. These are in connection with allegations that she accepted significant handouts, including extravagant meals, in exchange for political favors.

A source informed that there are suspicions regarding whether some businesspeople funded Lewis Martin’s lavish karaoke parties as part of these dealings.

It’s still uncertain if these new charges will form a separate criminal case or if they will relate to existing ones.

Last year, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office executed a search at her residence and seized her phone following her return from a trip abroad. She abruptly resigned from her position at city hall in mid-December, just weeks after the charges against her were sealed.

Reports suggest that she may have traded favors with numerous hotel owners, using $100,000 in bribes to purchase a Porsche for her son, Glenn Martin II, who is known as DJ Suave Luciano.

The indictment also names a couple of individuals connected with hotels and real estate ventures.

Despite these serious allegations, Lewis Martin has maintained her innocence. Her current situation adds to the challenges faced by Mayor Adams, especially as he navigates a tough path for reelection, with his first term already overshadowed by corruption claims.

So far, Adams has chosen to stand by his longtime friend amid mounting pressure from supporters to distance himself. A representative from the Manhattan DA’s office has refrained from commenting, and City Hall has not responded either.
