Injured Marine Accused of Assaulting Young Teen

Marine Veteran Faces Legal Charges

A former Marine veteran from Pennsylvania has been charged with raping a 13-year-old girl. Brandon Rumbaugh, age 34, reportedly turned to motivational speaking after losing his foot in Afghanistan. However, he is now facing serious allegations following a police investigation initiated by a report from Childline about the girl’s accusations.

The court documents indicate that Rumbaugh is being investigated for sexual assault against a minor, where he is significantly older than the victim. He was arrested on Friday in Uniontown, a town located about 60 miles south of Pittsburgh.

Childline is a state-mandated hotline that operates around the clock, handling reports of child abuse and neglect through the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.

The victim has described Rumbaugh as a family friend since she was ten. She began talking to him on the phone when she was around 11 or 12 years old. During visits to his home, while she said nothing inappropriate occurred on the first visit, the next two visits allegedly involved Rumbaugh sexually assaulting her multiple times.

During one of the incidents, the victim mentioned that Rumbaugh had provided her with an alcoholic drink. She reported feeling pressured and claimed he told her to keep everything secret until she turned 18.

In 2009, Rumbaugh was recognized for his bravery after being injured while attempting to rescue another Marine in Afghanistan.

His social media profiles indicate he has two children, and many of his posts feature him working out at the gym, often accompanied by motivational messages.

Rumbaugh is now facing several charges, including rape, sexual assault, and aggravated indecent assault.
