Injured person from Cincinnati fight discusses serious brain injuries and healing process

Cincinnati Brawl Victim Speaks Out

A woman named Holly, a victim of a recent violent brawl in Cincinnati, has shared the extent of her injuries. In a video, she visibly shows damage to her face as she provides updates on her health. “It was extremely difficult, but I’m still recovering,” she mentioned, adding that she suffers from severe brain trauma.

The investigation into the Cincinnati altercation, which occurred on July 26, is still ongoing, and authorities have made four arrests related to the incident. There are still two suspects at large, actively being pursued by law enforcement.

Holly was one of six people hurt when she was knocked unconscious near the corner of Elm and Force Street. The individuals apprehended include Jermaine Matthews, 39, Dominique Kittles, 37, Montian Meriweather, 34, and Dekira Vernon, whose ages are 34 and 24. As of Sunday, Kittles, Meriweather, and Vernon were still in custody, while Matthews was granted bond last week.

Reports indicate that videos capturing the violent incident show racial slurs being shouted during the chaos. Matthews faces multiple charges including felony assaults and aggravated riot, while the others have similar charges against them.

Witness Accounts and Reactions

Additional footage has emerged, revealing moments leading up to the fight, with someone in the crowd reportedly shouting racial slurs before the violence erupted. “I saw other fights going on. It seemed like one of those situations fueled by alcohol,” said Jay Black, expressing his support for Holly and her family.

Local leaders are speaking on the racial aspects surrounding the event. Cincinnati’s police chief, Teresa Theetge, noted that among roughly 100 witnesses, only one contacted law enforcement during the uproar. “If we had received that call in real time, officers could have responded swiftly,” she stated at a press conference.

As Holly wrapped up her emotional message, she expressed gratitude towards those who have reached out with prayers and support. “God bless you all, thank you. It was very difficult, but I’m still recovering,” she concluded.
