DK Metcalf’s Standout Performance Amid Health Concerns
DK Metcalf had an impressive game, recording seven catches for 148 yards, just when the Pittsburgh Steelers needed him the most. His efforts helped the team secure a 27-22 victory against the Baltimore Ravens. However, following the match, Metcalf experienced some health issues.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin mentioned that Metcalf was treated for an abdominal problem after being struck during the game. According to a team spokesperson, Metcalf was taken to a local hospital in Baltimore and spent the night there due to abdominal pain.
Fortunately, Tomlin reported that Metcalf is on the mend and expected to play in the upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins on Monday. “My symptoms probably got progressively worse after the game, so I’m grateful to the medical professionals,” Tomlin expressed. “We took precautions. We didn’t want to send him out there without fully understanding what was going on, and the medical staff did a great job.” Metcalf is currently listed as questionable on the injury report.
In terms of performance this season, Metcalf has been a valuable asset since joining the Steelers from the Seattle Seahawks. He has amassed 52 catches, 753 yards, and five touchdowns, which aligns with his performance from the previous season. Notably, he only played in 15 games last year.
The Steelers are currently dealing with several injuries. Guard Andrus Peat, defensive tackle Derrick Harmon, and safety Kyle Dugger are all uncertain for the next game, while tackle Calvin Anderson has already been ruled out due to a knee issue.
