No one knows what happened inside the home on Lakeview Circle in Agawam, Massachusetts, during the pandemic lockdown, but neighbors suspect something may have transformed Jared Ravizza into a monster straight out of a horror movie.
Jared’s father, Jason, also experienced “strange” changes, they said.
The 26-year-old man is accused of stabbing four girls while they were watching the film “IF” at a cinema outside Boston last weekend, then stabbing two more people at a McDonald’s.
“Jared and Jason were acting really strange,” a neighbor said of the stabbing suspect and his 57-year-old father. “Something dramatic happened during COVID. I don’t know what happened in the house.”
In photos taken on Martha’s Vineyard just a few years ago, Ravizza looked clean-cut and preppy.

Neighbors in Agawam said Jason Ravizza returned home to his wife, Kim, just as suddenly as he left about two weeks ago.

Jason may or may not be related to Dr. Ken Ravizza of Los Angeles. Until his death in 2018 at the age of 70, Dr. Ravizza was considered one of the leading sports psychologists in the country. Dr. Ravizza was described as “the guru to dozens of major league baseball players.”
Jason wrote a condolence message in Dr. Ravizza’s obituary, calling him his “uncle.”
Dr. Ravizza’s website includes a disclaimer that reads, “The Ravizza family does not endorse the use of the Ravizza name in any sports psychology or social media services.” Anyone using the Ravizza name for these services is not affiliated with Ken Ravizza in any way.”
Dr. Ravizza’s widow, Claire, did not return calls from The Washington Post.
Jared Ravizza pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Plymouth District Court to two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault with intent to kill and other charges, and was ordered held for a mental evaluation.
He is being held at Bridgewater State Hospital, a medium-security facility for male patients that is surrounded by high fencing and multiple layers of barbed wire.
Neither he nor his father could be reached for comment.
