The assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump has left Americans across the country with more questions than answers.
One of them is Matthew Murphy, a U.S. Army Green Beret sniper, who said after analyzing the available information about the shooting: Sara Gonzalez “This doesn’t mean anything.”
“You have to think for a second about how he got on that roof,” Murphy continued. “Depending on who you listen to, he was either 120 or 150 yards away from President Trump. So that’s as close as you can get.”
As the gunman was in position, protesters yelled and pointed him out to police, while counter-snipers were deployed to protect the former president.
“There’s no doubt that a sniper on the rooftop saw the perpetrator and saw him crawling around on the roof. At that distance, on a white roof, it would be impossible to miss him with the naked eye. So why? [didn’t he] “Would you take that shot?” Murphy says, noting that he himself wouldn’t have hesitated to take that shot.
The rumours began spreading after an anonymous 4chan post in which a man claiming to be the shooter explained that he had been ordered to retreat.
“I don’t know if that’s true or not, but that’s the only reason that I and my friends believe he didn’t pull the trigger and shoot the gunman,” he explains.
Gonzalez is convinced this was not a mistake.
“There are so many coincidences that it goes beyond incompetence, and I would say we have to consider the possibility that something more sinister may have happened,” Gonzalez said.
“This is not the first time the federal government has attempted to remove a president, former president or presidential candidate.”
Murphy noticed another odd thing about the shooting.
“If you look at the trajectory of the bullet as it travels past the back of Mr. Trump’s head, it appears to be very flat,” he began.
“As the bullet approaches his ear, he turns his head. The bullet is traveling on a very flat trajectory. It’s not like someone high up on a roof is shooting at the president,” he explains.
Another video of the shooting showed a woman sitting behind Trump hiding behind a sign before quickly pulling out her cell phone, raising further questions.
The woman “ducks down behind the sign, and now the bullets are coming from the side.”
“I’ve spoken to multiple shooters about this, and I’m not the only one who’s got it wrong,” Murphy said. “Everyone I’ve spoken to about this, who I trust, sees the same thing I do. Something else happened, and it looks like that bullet came from somewhere else.”
“As a level 1 sniper, you’re saying you believe this was an inside job, there was a second shooter, or both?” Gonzalez said.
“It could be an inside job,” Murphy replies.
