Insider reveals details about the sensitive issue surrounding Savannah Guthrie's return

Savannah Guthrie’s Return to NBC’s Today Show in Question

Savannah Guthrie, co-host of NBC’s “Today,” is eager to return to her role, and the network is on board, but details about “when and how” she will do so remain unclear, according to sources.

Guthrie has been absent from the show since February following the distressing disappearance of her mother, Nancy, in Tucson, Arizona. This case has drawn significant attention nationwide, although answers have been elusive.

“She wants to come back, and everyone is supportive of her,” an insider shared. “The challenge is figuring out when and how she can manage a show that often requires humor, especially given her current situation.”

“She’s a genuinely wonderful person, and I believe she will find a way back,” they added.

Recently, Guthrie expressed to her colleagues during a visit to NBC’s headquarters that she intends to return. “I don’t exactly know how I’ll do it, but I can’t imagine not coming back. You all are like family, and I want to be part of it again,” she noted, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

There’s speculation regarding her return sometime within the next month, although NBC News has not commented on this matter.

Guthrie continues to maintain strong relationships with her coworkers and had an emotional reunion with them recently. The “Today” show has kept viewers updated and has offered support for Guthrie and her family throughout this difficult time.

This week, she sat down with Hoda Kotb for her first interview since her mother’s disappearance. “Someone needs to step up,” she stated emotionally. “We’re suffering. I wake up in the middle of the night, haunted by what she might be going through.” Guthrie added, “It’s unimaginable, but these are thoughts I can’t ignore. She needs to come home now.”

“Today” will remind viewers about the interview airing later this week.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has indicated that Nancy Guthrie is believed to have been taken against her will. Reports state that she was last seen around 10 p.m. after being dropped off at home by her son-in-law. A masked individual was reportedly seen at her door early the next morning.

As of now, Guthrie has actively used social media to seek help in finding her mother, urging anyone with information to contact authorities.

In her career, Guthrie joined NBC News in 2007 as a legal analyst before becoming the chief White House correspondent.
