Instant evaluations of every major deal as the NFL trade deadline arrives in 2025

The 2025 NFL Trade Deadline is drawing near, with teams having until 4 PM ET on Tuesday, November 4th, to finalize their trades.

You can keep tabs on all trades leading up to the deadline. Let’s review which teams are likely to benefit and which may face setbacks as the clock ticks down.

Below are trackers for monitoring transactions.

November 4th – Deadline

Bengals trade LB Logan Wilson to Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are set to bolster their defense with the addition of linebacker Logan Wilson, who is being traded from the Bengals for a seventh-round draft pick.

Dallas grade: B
Cincinnati grade: B

This deal appears beneficial for both squads. The Cowboys definitely need defensive reinforcements, although Wilson won’t be an instant fix—he recently found himself losing snaps to a rookie on a struggling Bengals team. Still, Dallas could really use any help they can find on defense.

For Cincinnati, trading Wilson could bring in something of value, especially since he might have sought a move anyway. So, well done all around.

Titans trade Edge Doremon Jones to Ravens

The Tennessee Titans continue to offload players, sending pass rusher Dre’Mont Jones and a conditional fifth-round pick in 2026 to the Baltimore Ravens.

Tennessee Grade: B+
Baltimore Grade: B-

Focusing on Tennessee, they are clearly in sell-mode, having already moved cornerback Roger McCreary along with Jones. They’ll receive a conditional fifth-round pick, which could upgrade to a fourth if certain conditions are met, though those specifics aren’t clear.

This is a fair return for Tennessee, considering Jones is on a one-year deal. The Titans might not be in a position to get compensatory picks after he leaves next season, so getting something now is likely better than nothing come spring.

For Baltimore, acquiring Jones is a relatively solid move, especially after having traded away Odafe Oweh earlier this season, though it’s a bit curious. He has 4.5 sacks this year and should help fill a gap.

Dolphins trade EDGE Jaelan Phillips to Eagles

The Miami Dolphins have traded Jaelan Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles for a third-round pick in 2026.

Miami grade: A-
Philadelphia Grade: B+

Let’s consider Miami’s perspective. With Phillips potentially headed for free agency next spring, and given the ongoing changes within the Dolphins, they’ve opted to trade him for something rather than risk losing him. They’re even covering part of his salary to snag that better pick. Philadelphia now has two third-round picks, their own and one from the Jets.

This move also makes sense for Philadelphia, even if Phillips turns out to be a short-term acquisition. They needed a defensive back, and he had 6.5 sacks before an Achilles injury cut his season short.

Interestingly, Vic Fangio was his defensive coordinator during that time.

Plus, if Phillips signs elsewhere next offseason, Philadelphia could receive a compensatory pick in return.

Seems like a smart strategy.

Ravens trade CB Jaire Alexander to Eagles

Philadelphia forked over a sixth-round pick in 2026 to the Ravens for veteran cornerback Jaire Alexander.

Baltimore grade: B+
Philadelphia Grade: B-

It’s apparent that Howie Roseman sees Philadelphia’s defense as an issue—perhaps the most straightforward one to address. Trading for Alexander just days after acquiring Michael Carter II suggests that he’s keen on revamping the cornerback role opposite Kunyon Mitchell.

While adding Alexander provides another option for Roseman and Fangio, it’s unclear whether he’s the definitive solution. He’s played in only two games for Baltimore this season, despite their own defensive struggles. But at this cost, it’s a pretty low-risk move.

For the Ravens, getting something back for Alexander is a decent outcome.

Jets trade CB Michael Carter to Eagles for WR John Metchie III

The New York Jets flipped cornerback Michael Carter II and wide receiver John Metchie III to the Eagles, with some draft picks exchanged as well.

New York grade: B
Philadelphia grade: B

This trade echoes the previous one involving Jaire Alexander, as it’s another indication of Roseman wanting to shore up the cornerback situation. Carter is slated for the slot position, which could allow for adjustments in the secondary alongside Cooper DeJean and Kunyon Mitchell.

The Jets, meanwhile, needed more options at wide receiver, and Metchie III should help in that area.

Patriots trade S. Kyle Dugger to Steelers

The New England Patriots are sending safety Kyle Dugger and a seventh-round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for a sixth-round pick.

New England grade: B-
Pittsburgh grade: B

Dugger will aid Pittsburgh in filling the gap left by DeShon Elliott’s injury from their last game. Dugger offers the Steelers another strong safety option after Chuck Clark’s shortcomings in that game.

From the Patriots’ perspective, Dugger has had reduced playing time under the current coaching regime and is only used at times when the team isn’t relying on Jaylin Hawkins. He has recorded just 17 tackles across seven games this season.

Freeing up cap space over the next few years seems beneficial for New England—reportedly generating nearly $5.8 million now, with more savings expected moving forward.

Patriots trade EDGE Keon White to 49ers

New England wasn’t done trading, as they also sent pass rusher Keon White to the 49ers along with a seventh-round pick for a sixth-round pick in 2026. White had a productive season last year with five sacks, and San Francisco needed reinforcements following Nick Bosa’s injury.

New England grade: C
San Francisco Grade: A-

The 49ers were in dire need of help on the defensive front. They lost Bosa to an ACL tear and have struggled to pressure quarterbacks this season. White’s addition could allow them to create more pressure, which they’ve severely lacked.

As for New England, White’s role diminished with the new signings, but if any of those players get hurt, they might miss having kept him. Letting him go for a late-round pick feels a bit underwhelming.

But maybe the Patriots are just gearing up for larger moves ahead…

Titans trade CB Roger McCreary to Rams

Tennessee has started transitioning for next season, trading cornerback Roger McCreary to the Los Angeles Rams. In return, Tennessee receives a conditional fifth-round pick while the Rams get a conditional sixth-round pick along with McCreary.

Los Angeles grade: B
Tennessee Grade: B-

With McCreary, the Rams are adding a versatile player to their secondary. They could shift Quentin Lake to safety while utilizing McCreary in the slot. Alternatively, he could take on outside duties with other cornerbacks already in place. More options are always beneficial.

As for Tennessee, it’s clear they are focused on the future.
