Bill Maher had compared his White House dinner and President Trump to Adolf Hitler and food, calling his fellow comedian Larry David a humiliation to millions of dead Jews.
Maher gave the answers in an episode of the Club Random Podcast with Piers Morgan.
“First of all, it’s like shaming six million dead Jews,” Maher said. I said. “It’s the kind of argument you lost just to start it. Look, it may not be entirely logically fair, but Hitler really had to stay in his place. He’s an evil goat. We have to leave it that way.”
Maher said that David lost the argument the moment he played “Hitler Card” while he was still thinking of him as a friend.
“This was not my favorite moment of our friendship. I think the moment you played the ‘Hitler’ card, you lost the argument,” Maher said. “Come on, Mann, Hitler, the Nazis – no one has to say about Donald Trump more than me. I don’t need to lecture about who Donald Trump is.
Later in the interview, Maher said he was willing to talk to Larry David in the future.
“I don’t want to be constantly personal with me and Larry. We may be friends again,” Maher said. “I can take shots and take it when people don’t agree with me. That’s not the way I did it. Ironically: Let’s go back to my ex. There has to be a better way than not being able to throw insults and talk to people.
With a satirical operation for New York TimeS, Title: “My Dinner with Adolf,” David described a friendly and heartfelt dinner fantasy scenario, as if he was meeting Adolf Hitler and other Nazi leaders, and saying Maher was fooled. He never mentioned Maher or Trump by name.
