Interest in 'office romance' and 'infidelity' spikes following Coldplay concert kiss-cam controversy

Cold Play, Hot Searches

Since the recent scandal involving a Coldplay concert, interest in certain adult-related searches on PornHub has surged dramatically.

Andy Byron, the 50-year-old CEO and an astronomer, was caught on “Kisscam” at a Coldplay show in Massachusetts, sharing a moment with Christine Cabot, the company’s talent officer. Both, married to other people, drew attention as their interaction quickly became an internet sensation, leading to a flurry of memes and humorous posts, especially on TikTok.

However, beyond the humor, many users flocked to the internet to look for adult videos linked to affairs in the workplace, showing a different side to the situation. It’s interesting, maybe even a bit surprising, how quickly people shifted their focus to these kinds of searches.

Data from Pornhub indicates an 18% spike in searches for “Office Affair” and a 21% increase for “Office Sex” within just 24 hours after the incident made headlines. The phrases “caught fraud” and “cheating” also saw notable increases, rising by 22% and 29%, respectively. Even more striking was the term “illegal couple,” which skyrocketed by 31%.

Following the concert incident on Wednesday, a new video surfaced showing Byron and Cabot kissing and embracing. They appear to be enjoying Coldplay’s popular song “Yellow,” amidst a sea of fans illuminated by mobile phones in the audience.

In the wake of the incident, it’s reported that both Byron and Cabot were asked to step back from their roles. The company, emphasizing its commitment to integrity and accountability, announced that a formal investigation has been initiated regarding the situation.

So far, neither Byron nor Cabot has publicly addressed the unfolding scandal.
