Homan Addresses Crowd Amid Protests
During the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit, Tom Homan found himself confronting a heckler who questioned if he was affiliated with MS-13. Rather than back down, Homan used the moment to ramp up his message about a major deportation operation he plans to undertake.
The crowd erupted into chants of “America! America! America” as Homan exited the stage, energized after the interruption. Just minutes into his speech, he was interrupted by the heckler, who was promptly removed by security, but the exchange only fueled Homan’s determination.
Speaking to anti-ICE activists outside the event in Tampa, Florida, Homan made it clear he would not be intimidated. “Do you want some? Get some,” he declared. He expressed his frustration over the lack of respect toward ICE officials, stating they are among the nation’s best. “Tom Homan is not going anywhere. Tom Homan is not silent,” he added with conviction.
The heckler’s comment about MS-13 referenced the notorious gang targeted during Trump’s deportation efforts. Homan pointed out that federal immigration officials face such challenges daily. “This guy doesn’t know what it’s like to serve this country,” he criticized, implying that the heckler lacks the courage to take on a law enforcement role.
As the heckler was escorted away, Homan directed some colorful remarks at him, expressing contempt for his appearance. The crowd continued to rally behind Homan, showing their support for his tough stance on immigration.
Homan asserted that anti-ICE sentiment has risen sharply, noting the hostility directed towards border patrol agents. He expressed disappointment that the protesters were not present when he arrived at the summit, but acknowledged that demonstrations against Trump’s immigration policies had intensified, reflecting a backlash against ICE and law enforcement.
Recent protests have also stirred up tensions, with allegations of ambushes in Texas and confrontations occurring at ICE facilities. Homan stated that the escalating rhetoric had reached a tipping point, exacerbating strife across various locations.
At the outset of his speech, Homan admitted he may come off as strict, but he strongly endorsed Trump’s immigration policies. He claimed, “Under his leadership, we held the safest border in national history and did it in seven weeks—accomplishing what Biden could not in four years.”
