A significant ally of the United States has initiated an investigation into the possibility that Jeffrey Epstein acted as a Russian spy, potentially gathering damaging information on influential figures globally. This development follows the release of numerous messages connecting the late financier to Vladimir Putin.
Authorities in Poland are set to explore any potential ties between Epstein, a convicted sex offender, and Russian intelligence after a recent release of Epstein documents by the US Department of Justice revealed various mentions of President Putin and Moscow.
“We’re receiving an increasing number of leads and comments in the media that suggest Russian intelligence had some hand in this considerable pedophile scandal,” stated Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk during a government meeting on Tuesday.
“The implications for our national security are serious, as it seems more likely that Russian intelligence played a role in orchestrating this,” he added.
The Prime Minister pointed out that this situation likely means Russia possesses compromising material on numerous leaders still in power.
Tusk mentioned that a task force would be created to investigate how Epstein’s actions could have affected Poland, hinting at a possible connection to Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB).
This investigation comes on the heels of emails discovered in the recently released documents, revealing anonymous discussions about meetings between Epstein and Putin.
Putin’s name is mentioned nearly a thousand times within Epstein’s files, while Moscow is referenced nearly 10,000 times.
One email, dated September 11, 2011, detailed plans for Epstein to meet with Putin during an upcoming trip to Russia.
“I talked to Igor, and he mentioned that during your last visit to Palm Beach, he told you about an appointment with President Putin scheduled for September 16th, and you could arrange your flight to Russia a few days earlier,” the email stated.
In May 2013, Epstein reached out to Thorbjörn Jagland, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, expressing a desire to assist Putin and Russia in “reinventing the financial system.”
Another memo from 2014 hinted at a potential future meeting between Epstein and Putin.
The recent flurry of emails and previous claims about Epstein’s involvement as a Russian spy have fueled extensive speculation that he may have trafficked young women from Russia in a state-sponsored effort to create the largest “honey trap” to ensnare the wealthy and powerful.
No comments were made regarding the investigation by either the Russian Embassy in Warsaw or the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Maria Zakharova, a spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, indicated in December that the Epstein documents reveal the hypocrisy among Western elites.
“It appears to me that all those Western ‘moral instructors’ were looking down on Russia while engaging in dubious activities with equally dubious company,” she remarked in a statement.
