Investigation at Ayanna Pressley’s Husband’s Property

Boston homicide detectives cordoned off a home belonging to Rep. Ayanna Pressley’s husband, Conan Harris, after a body was discovered on the premises Saturday night.

According to a police spokesperson, officers received a call around 1:52 p.m. regarding “an investigation into a person” at a residence on Marta Street in the Mattapan neighborhood. When they arrived, they found an individual deceased.

Details surrounding the cause of death remain unclear, as the homicide unit has taken over the investigation.

As reported on Saturday, the property is owned by Harris, and public records indicate its assessed value is about $919,000. This two-story residence, built in 1910, features seven bedrooms but is not occupied by Pressley and Harris; it’s currently a rental property on the market for $1.15 million.

Pressley’s office quickly released a statement expressing condolences to the affected families but did not provide additional information regarding the incident.

Notably, Harris has a history with the law, having been sentenced to ten years for drug trafficking. He has reportedly transformed his life since then, working as a safety consultant for the city of Boston and serving as executive director of a community support nonprofit.

Pressley has emphasized Harris’s role in advocating for individuals seeking to rebuild their lives after incarceration. The couple, who married in 2014, has been supportive of community initiatives.

Pressley has represented her district in the House of Representatives since 2018.
