Investigation reveals Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer went to a strip club with her staff

Investigation Uncovers Controversies Involving Labor Secretary Lori Chavez Delemer

WASHINGTON – An internal investigation into Labor Secretary Lori Chavez Delemer has revealed a supply of alcohol in her Washington, D.C. office, along with allegations that she took staff members to strip clubs during official trips, according to five sources familiar with the matter.

The inquiry also corroborated previous rumors concerning an “inappropriate” relationship with a subordinate, which were discussed internally several months ago. Chief of Staff Han Ji-hoon was reportedly involved and has since been placed on leave, along with aide Rebecca Wright.

Initial reports highlighted claims that Chavez Delemer, 57, engaged in “travel fraud,” where she had Han and Wright cover expenses for official trips, consumed alcohol during work hours, and fostered a hostile work atmosphere where staff were belittled.

As part of the investigation’s expansion, interviews with government officials and staff are underway, revealing an incident from April 2025 where Chavez Delemer allegedly visited a strip club in Oregon with a subordinate.

Her visit to the Angels PDX club outside Portland happened during a five-day trip intended to meet with Oregon Governor Tina Kotek and tour various facilities. Records indicate that taxpayers funded over $2,890 for this trip, which included significant expenses for transportation, lodging, and meals.

Chavez Delemer’s attorney, Dr. Nick Oberheiden, emphasized her strong denial of any wrongdoing. He stated, “Her top priority remains advancing President Trump’s policies and working for the betterment of the American people.”

The Labor Department’s Office of the Inspector General, led by former Congressman Anthony D’Esposito, is assessing potential evidence, including video footage of meetings between Chavez Delemer and her alleged mistress, both at her D.C. apartment and a Las Vegas hotel.

The individual accused of having the inappropriate relationship has been placed on administrative leave but did not respond to requests for comment.

A Pentagon spokesperson commented that the department doesn’t address internal or personnel issues but noted that the Secretary is focused on the department’s mission.

The White House reiterated support for Chavez Delemer, affirming that the President is aware of the investigation and believes she is performing well in her role.

Allegations against the Secretary and her aides stem from a complaint submitted to the DOL’s Office of Inspector General last month, initially reported by the Post on January 9. Chavez Delemer’s husband, Dr. Sean Delemer, defended her character, asserting there was no truth to the allegations.

The inquiry has so far concentrated on Han and Wright, who are accused of covering for the Secretary’s alleged actions. Reports suggest that Han may have instructed staff to dismiss questions about the rumored affair, expressing a detached attitude towards the White House’s stance on the matter.

Chavez Delemer is also accused of utilizing Han and Wright to arrange travel plans that benefitted her personal interests, including multiple visits to Las Vegas, where she allegedly celebrated personal occasions during official trips.

Additionally, it was reported that she directed her staff to run personal errands during government events, and further allegations about a stash of alcohol in her office emerged from the investigation.

Chavez Delemer’s engagement with travel often included destinations with personal significance, such as Nevada and her home state of Oregon.
