Investigators looking for additional videos of Amy Hillyard in the Bay Area

A mother of two and coffee shop owner from the Bay Area has been missing for several months, prompting her family to hire investigators who are now seeking surveillance footage that might provide insights into her disappearance.

Amy Hillyard, 52, co-owner of Farley’s Coffee in San Francisco, was last seen on March 25 while walking her dog in Oakland, specifically near the 500 block of Radnor Road. Witnesses noted that she was in a tan outfit during that time.

On a positive note, the community’s support, including contributions from friends and strangers touched by her story, has made it possible for the Hillyard family to employ a private investigation team. More information can be found at BringAmyHome.com.

Investigators are reaching out to local residents and property owners for surveillance footage recorded after 2 p.m. on that day.

The civilian team is interested in any video that may or may not show individuals.

Steve Fisher, from Search Research, LLC, expresses confidence that there’s likely valuable footage available: “I truly believe there are clues in the surveillance.”

“Amy’s friends and volunteers have shown incredible dedication, going door to door and scouting trails in the park,” he added.

Fisher, alongside investigator Steve Gerinske, is visiting nearby buildings to request security footage that hasn’t yet been obtained.

They are actively searching using various methods including drones, tracking her potential movements, and consulting with homeowners.

Footage is specifically being sought from areas such as:

  • Cleveland Heights
  • Park Boulevard Corridor
  • Near MacArthur Boulevard
  • Trestle Glen
  • Crocker Highland

Even previously reviewed footage could yield new insights, and the investigators believe that information about any lack of movement during that afternoon could also be significant.

Amy’s husband, Chris Hillyard, shared that he had a therapy appointment the day she disappeared. Upon returning around 1:40 p.m., she sent him a text saying she was home.

Surveillance footage showed her with the dog and conversing with neighbors shortly after getting back. However, when Chris arrived around 3:15 p.m., he found her personal belongings like her cell phone and keys on the kitchen counter, with the back door open.

Chris talked about Amy’s struggles with her mental health, mentioning her recent losses and how they affected her well-being. This prompted her to seek professional help and receive medication for anxiety and depression.

Contacted by the California Post, Oakland police have stated they found “no evidence to suggest foul play,” and the investigation continues.

Currently, there is no indication of kidnapping or any other related crimes regarding her disappearance.
