At age 16, Ione Skye began dating Anthony Kiedis, the front man of Red Hot Chile Pepper, who was 24 years old and had fresh rehabilitation.
Chemistry was immediate because it was “instantly authentic and instantly intertwined.” But as much as Rocker continued to fight his addiction on heroin, it quickly turned into toxicity. The relationship began right when Skye won her breakout role in Cameron Crow's film “Say Anything.”
The actress, now 54, is writing a memoir. “Say it all” She opens up about her love life and stands up for stardom in Hollywood.

Skye celebrated the 1989 cult classic for helping to deal with the romance of destiny.
“I think doing 'Say Anything' is one of my saviors and I'm in touch with some of my friends,” she told Fox News Digital.

“Funny. You're kind of hidden,” she recalls her teenager.

“I think it rattles me over the years,” the two mothers shared. “I was paralyzed when I was with him, and when I was working, I fell out again and I'm happy. I think that's how I dealt with it.
In the book, Sky recalls her “Fall Due to Anthony Phase” being quickly replaced by her “Salvation of the Anthony Phase.”

Skye said she was driving many lonely late nights to find him. She visited his usual haunts, including “the market where he bought bleach for his needles” and “that apartment…where his favorite dealer lived with his grandma.” When Kiedis was home from the tour, Sky said he was subjected to an uneasy attack in the middle of the night.

Skye shared that the need to save Kiedis has become “addicted in itself.” It took her a while for her to hit the bottom of the rock.

Skye emphasized that both her mother, model Enid Carle and brother actor Donovan Reich, did not approve of the relationship. Sky wrote, “The tension between my brother and my boyfriend was thick and smoggy. We all needed fresh air.”

“My mother and my siblings weren't happy about it,” Skye told Fox News Digital. “[My mother] Also, Anthony feels bad. She was a mother and he was her young man who was still troubled. But she definitely didn't want me to get involved like that. And that was the most worrying she had ever had about me. ”

“I apologized for all these years for being so worried about her,” she continued. “She wasn't very [could’ve done]Because I moved with him. She didn't want me to do that, but she wasn't very good about putting her legs down. ”
In 2021, the relationship resurfaced in Tiktok. Skye urged him to set the record straight.

“I protected my mother,” she said. “I didn't like when they were saying, 'Why did you get a girlfriend?' She tried to talk to me, but she had a conversation with me.

Fox News Digital reached out to 62-year-old Kiedis for comment. He previously wrote about his relationship in his 2004 memoir, Scar Tissue. Sky said years later, people would want to know “my side of the story.”
In the book, Skye admitted that Kiedis was “not my great love.” However, she believed that her love would somehow correct him. I didn't do that.

Skye slowly began to pull away from Kiedis. At the age of 18, she met Adam Horowitz, a member of the Beastie Boys, “the first great love of my life.” She was 21 when she married in 1992.
However, the union was not intended. Sky described himself as a “serial con man,” and in 1999 the pair divorced.

“I always feel sad whenever I hurt him. I probably did it sometimes,” Skye said. “Every ten years, I get more and more close to learning how to let go and grieve and lament the loss of such a great person in my life that has become a family.
“It's kind of like death… But I like to work on myself and I like to process it. [it]try to be as healthy as I can about things mentally. But it was a very slow process. ”

Looking back on the breakup was painful for Sky. She doesn't like to listen to the Beastie Boys yet.

“It's not that I want to go back with him,” she revealed. “I still have mixed feelings of regretting what happened. But it's getting better. And the book helped.”

Sky once again found love. She married Australian locker Benly in 2008. They share a 15-year-old daughter.

“I already had a child. [with interior designer David Netto] When I met Ben, I was doing everything I could to make her life safe and happy – she was my number one, Sky explained. . . I wanted someone I could trust. And I was getting older. I was mature. I was no longer pulled into all these desires the same way. I have tried to work on myself for years. I knew I like to get married, but how can I do that? Without blowing it up? ”
