Iowa Win Showed ‘Weakness of Donald Trump’

Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D-Ill.) said on MSNBC's Iowa caucus broadcast Monday that former President Donald Trump's “weakness” was reflected in his 30-plus point victory.

Pritzker said, “Nearly half of the Republican base that attended the caucuses tonight voted against Donald Trump. Think about that. I mean, this is the most famous Republican. You know him. , who basically built the modern Republican Party, the MAGA Republican Party that the Democrats are competing against. Half the people in that party didn't vote for Donald Trump.”

He continued: This article speaks to the weakness of Donald Trump and the opportunity for the Democratic Party. Because if your base doesn't enthusiastically beat Donald Trump in the general election, and the Democrats support your base, this is all about you. Independents and independents know that they don't like Donald Trump. ”

Pritzker added: “So I think we're in a very good position tonight to see what's going on on the Republican side.” If Donald Trump is indeed the winner tonight and can win New Hampshire and South Carolina, the race will likely be over. But the truth is that all of these candidates are running as mini-me Trump Republicans. They all have exactly the position you mentioned earlier, the six-week ban on abortion. They want a nationwide abortion ban. Republicans are against working families. Donald Trump represents everything that is wrong with the current political environment. ”
