IP Addresses Connected to ‘Massive Cyberattack’ on X Originated From Ukraine

Elon Musk claimed that the IP address connected to X's “major cyberattack” caused a major outage throughout Monday, which occurred in Ukraine.

in Interview With Fox Business Network host Larry Kudlow, Musk admitted that they still “we don't know exactly what happened.”

“We had a cyber attack on X today, and it could have shut it down and been raised in a foreign language,” Kudlow says. “That's a big story – do you want to give us time about it?”

“I don't know exactly what happened,” Musk replied. “However, there was a massive cyberattack to try to defeat X systems, which have IP addresses in the Ukraine region.”

Lucas Nolan of Breitbart News reported on social media platforms that “a group known as the “Dark Storm Team” claimed responsibility for the attack” but “not independently verified.”

Speculations about the cause of the outage are beginning to spread, with some users suggesting that X could be the target of a series of distributed denial of service (DDOS) attacks. These attacks include flooding your website or service with overwhelming amounts of traffic, making it inaccessible to legitimate users. A group known as the “Dark Storm Team” has claimed responsibility for attacks on social media, but these claims have not been independently verified.

At about 6am, the first stop of X occurred, with about 20,608 outages reported, According to Down detector. There were 720 reports of X outages at 6:17, and the outages on social media platforms appeared to have stopped until around 9:30am

According to the down detector, there were approximately 41,143 reports of X outages at 10:02am. At 10:32am, this reduced to about 1,361 reports, with around 4,670 reports on the suspension at 11:02am.

Reports of suspensions on social media platforms then surged again, with around 1:32pm and around 1:02pm, about 36,064 suspensions reported, with around 3,455 reports of suspensions.

The social media platform appears to be experiencing another stop spike again, with reports reaching 19,446 around 2:02pm before returning again.
