Disappointment Surrounds Apple’s iPhone 17 Launch

Apple enthusiasts were eagerly awaiting the reveal of the latest iPhone. Yet, when the company unveiled its iPhone 17 lineup on Tuesday, the mood shifted—many voiced their disappointment over the new design.

“iPhone 17 Pro, our most gleeful iPhone,” one frustrated user remarked on social media.

The new line, which includes the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the sleek iPhone Air, boasts a more powerful chip, improved battery life, and a camera that offers four times the resolution of older models. But it seems that those upgrades aren’t enough to win over the fans.

Notably, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are marked by wide camera islands that occupy a significant portion of the top third of the devices. Some found this particularly bothersome.

Additionally, the latest phones feature a redesigned glass panel—not a seamless back—which purportedly enhances wireless charging capabilities.

Initially, when images of the new design leaked online, discussions flared up. Following the design confirmation, opinions intensified.

“Awful design. Awful, awful, awful,” lamented another user.

One comment remarked on how Apple, once the leader in aesthetic appeal, seems to have turned into a parody of itself, with a camera bar that eerily resembles that of the Google Pixel 10.

Another critic added, “It looks like an ugly Android phone. It’s not an Apple.”

“The iPhone 17 Pro is the largest iPhone ever,” a frustrated user declared. “Steve Jobs would have fired everyone back in his day.”

Beyond the physical aspect, the color selections have also left fans scratching their heads. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max come in three shades: silver, deep blue, and a rather bold cosmic orange.

Some called the orange choice a “crime against design,” while others expressed disappointment over the absence of a classic black option.

“The black iPhone 17 Pro is not incredibly stupid,” one user stated.

Pre-orders for the new iPhones are set to begin on September 12th, with sales launching on September 19th. The iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1,099 for the 256GB version, which matches last year’s pricing, though there’s no longer a lower-capacity model available at $999.
