iPhone Duo users angry after their devices are delayed until 2027

iPhone Duo Orders Delayed

There’s been quite the uproar among Apple enthusiasts after many found their preorders for the new iPhone Duo pushed back until next year.

The company’s first foldable phone, priced starting at $1,999, became an instant hit, selling out within minutes after preorders opened on October 16 at 8 a.m. EST.

While initial buyers were set to receive their devices on the launch date of October 23, those who acted just a bit later faced delivery delays stretching into winter.

By 8:30 a.m., every configuration of the iPhone Duo available on Apple’s U.S. store reflected delivery dates as late as January.

Understandably, this news frustrated potential buyers. One shocked customer on social media expressed disbelief, saying, “iPhone Duo won’t deliver until January 25th, 2027?” along with a screenshot of their order.

Another user lamented the situation, mentioning they attempted to preorder multiple models and saw delays into early November. “Sorry guys, but this might be the first time we won’t have an iPhone on launch day,” they said.

A further comment revealed a similar experience, with a user posting about the apparent luck required just to secure a preorder slot, as deliveries were now set for late January 2027.

One buyer recounted their own frustrating experience, ordering only three minutes after the launch. They faced issues logging in and found that their delivery date had already slipped to early November.

Another discontented user reported that despite trying to preorder two weeks in advance, they encountered glitches on the app and ended up with a delivery pushed back to December.

The iPhone Duo features a 7.6-inch inner screen—significantly larger than that of the iPhone 18 Pro—and a 5.4-inch outer screen, all while maintaining a lightweight design that folds down compactly.

Apple’s new CEO, John Ternus, noted that while many foldable phones often appear awkward, the Duo’s crease becomes nearly invisible when closed. Analysts suggest that this device might play a pivotal role in mainstreaming foldable technology, similar to what Apple accomplished with smartwatches and wireless earbuds.
