Iranian Group Offers Bounty for Trump
A report has surfaced indicating that an Iranian group has claimed to gather over $40 million as a reward for the assassination of former President Donald Trump.
This initiative, known as the “Blood Covenant,” reportedly incentivizes individuals to kill Trump in “Allah’s cause,” as a form of retaliation for recent military actions by the United States and Israel in Iran. As noted by the Middle East Media Institute (MEMRI), the group’s website suggests that this is part of their broader agenda against Trump’s administration. Allegations have long connected Iran to assassination plots against Trump, with reports of religious leaders issuing directives to harm him.
Fars News, an Iranian state media outlet, has aired statements endorsing the Blood Covenant Movement as a measure to support Iranian leader Ali Khamenei. MEMRI has pointed out that Muslim scholars recently advocated for a fundraising effort, framing it as a religious duty for all Muslims.
“We work in a very, very dynamic threat landscape, ensuring the safety of the President and his family,” a defense official remarked, emphasizing that they must remain discreet about specific security details. The official assured that collaboration occurs around the clock with various national and local partners to ensure maximum safety.
The Pentagon has refrained from making a comment regarding the situation.
Interestingly, Trump ordered attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities on June 21, aiming to impede Tehran’s nuclear aspirations. Shortly thereafter, he announced a ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel following a series of military exchanges. Federal prosecutors have charged three individuals, citing plans to assassinate Trump on behalf of Iran, after one of Iran’s Grand Ayatollahs issued a fatwa calling for his death in reaction to these tensions.
A spokesperson from the State Department remarked that it’s “very unwise to threaten Americans, especially President Trump,” underlining the serious nature of these declarations.
