Princess Nour Pahlavi Appeals for U.S. Support Against Iranian Regime

This past weekend, Iranian exile Princess Nour Pahlavi made a heartfelt plea to President Donald Trump, asserting that the Iranian people are closer than ever to overthrowing Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Pahlavi shared her sentiments during an interview, expressing that her “heart broke” for Iran, even though she has never visited the country. Her grandfather was the last Shah of Iran, who was removed from power around 47 years ago.

“Imagine if this were happening to you or your country,” Pahlavi reflected, discussing the regime’s harsh treatment of protestors. “It’s a government waging war against its own people. It’s painful to witness, and often hard for those far away to understand. But we cannot look away,” she urged.

She emphasized that “never before has the race been so close, and the government so weak.” Pahlavi noted how the Iranian populace is responding to Trump’s calls for action, naming streets after him and displaying signs with his face, showing their desperation for help as they confront a formidable government armed with little more than hope.

The Trump administration has been ramping up military forces in the vicinity of Iran over the past weeks, as discussions hint at targeted attacks on specific individuals. Some reports suggest that these actions could be part of a broader plan for regime change.

Global protests have erupted, demanding change in Iranian governance following a brutal crackdown on dissent. In a recent report, two U.S. officials indicated that various military options are being considered, pointing out that these plans stem from Trump’s directives. However, specific targets remain unnamed, raising questions about who might be included.

Pahlavi mentioned Trump’s recent statement, in which he acknowledged that reaching an agreement with Iran over its nuclear program is becoming increasingly urgent. He noted that if a deal isn’t made soon, “it’s going to be bad for them.”

As discussions continue to evolve, Pahlavi’s appeal underscores the urgency felt by many Iranians and their supporters as the situation remains precarious.
