Iron Maiden Sells Rights to Pophouse Entertainment

The iconic metal band Iron Maiden has sold over half of their catalog, including their name and likeness, to Pophouse Entertainment.

This deal involves more than 50% of their publishing and master music rights, plus a share of the rights tied to Eddie, the beloved mascot of the band. Pophouse announced plans to enhance the band’s cinematic and immersive projects, while also emphasizing their commitment to supporting Iron Maiden during live performances.

Founded in 1975 by bassist Steve Harris, Iron Maiden has cemented its place as a major influence in metal history. The band has sold over 100 million records, boasting 17 studio albums throughout an extensive career. Their accolades include Grammy Awards, Brit Awards, and Ivor Novello Awards. Furthermore, they are set to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this November.

Jessica Koravos, CEO of Pophouse, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are 50-50 partners with the band, and the plan is that we’re going to work together turbocharging Maiden’s plans for the future.” She mentioned that the focus would be on visual identity and exploring storytelling possibilities, especially with the horror-themed elements associated with the genre and Eddie.

Koravos added that they’re collaborating with Iron Maiden to create a film about their “Run For Your Lives World Tour,” and developing interactive fan experiences alongside a digital universe featuring Eddie.

Rod Smallwood, the band’s manager, shared his excitement over the deal, noting, “the ability we now have to pursue, facilitate, and finance our many plans and dreams quicker than we ever hoped.” He assured fans that there’s much more to come for Iron Maiden, stating emphatically, “and Eddie will rule, OK!!”

Iron Maiden’s impact spans over 50 years, maintaining a dedicated fanbase throughout their journey.

Pophouse also manages the music rights for several renowned artists, including KISS, Cyndi Lauper, and Tina Turner.
