The Emmys are all about honoring the best in television, and it wouldn’t be right to overlook Steven Conrad’s DTF St. Louis.
Featuring Jason Bateman, Linda Cardellini, and David Harbour, this HBO dark dramedy—a strange but engrossing love triangle—was a top pick for the Decider team. The show received a total of 13 Emmy nods and won in categories like Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, as well as Outstanding Writing, Cinematography, and Directing.
In addition, Cardellini and Harbour snagged wins for Outstanding Supporting Actor and Actress in a Limited Series or Anthology. Harbour notably triumphed over his co-stars Bateman and Richard Jenkins, while Cardellini bested Joy Sunday, who played Jodie Plumb in the show.
Now streaming on HBO Max, one wonders what’s next for this popular series. Is there a chance for a DTF St. Louis Season 2? Here’s what we know so far.
How Many Episodes Are There In DTF St. Louis?
The series comprises seven episodes.
Will There Be a Season 2 of DTF St. Louis on HBO?
Since DTF St. Louis was designed as a miniseries, a second season isn’t expected at this time. However, there’s always a possibility for some continuation—well, maybe.
The narrative surrounding Clark, Floyd, and Carol has wrapped up, but in an interview with GQ, creator Steven Conrad was asked about the possibility of revisiting the unique world of DTF St. Louis. The interviewer expressed interest in seeing more of Richard Jenkins and Joy Sunday discussing relationships and solving cases.
In response, Conrad mentioned the potential for a second season by referencing the “White Lotus instrument.” He explained that it revolves around similar themes but in a different environment. An anthology version of DTF would center on sex and violence, and as a writer, those are two compelling themes. There’s a lot of ground to cover, so it’s definitely an option he could explore.
At present, no new episodes of DTF St. Louis have been announced, but the future is still uncertain.
