Is George Soros a Lattea?
The billionaire known for his currency speculation, particularly when he profited by shorting the British pound in 1992 against the Bank of England, oversees a vast network of left-wing organizations linked to his Open Society Foundations.
Recently, President Donald Trump suggested that Soros and his son Alex could face prosecution under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. This law, originally designed to target the mafia, allows for enhanced penalties against those involved in ongoing criminal enterprises, but its application has expanded to other areas as well.
It’s worth noting that Trump himself faced RICO charges from Fulton County, Georgia, tied to the 2020 election count.
In a recent episode of the podcast Drill Down, Peter Schweizer highlighted Soros’s connections with dark money groups, particularly focusing on Arabella Advisors. These organizations have been known to fund various left-leaning groups related to recent anti-ICE protests in Los Angeles.
Schweizer pointed out that while it’s not illegal for individuals like Soros or Elon Musk to support political causes, the situation changes when funding groups that may incite violence. He noted that funders must be aware if they’re supporting entities known for their violent actions.
Trump’s warnings to Soros seem to serve as a broader caution directed at Arabella and others involved in dark money funding. Financial disclosures indicate that Arabella, which channels funds from Soros, allocated around $5 million to two left-wing nonprofits that took part in protests against immigration laws in Los Angeles. One of these groups actively encouraged protests and even provided protest tips in Spanish. Another group, the Fair Immigration Reform Movement, has been accused of training youth to protest aggressively.
Another organization, “The Coalition for the Rights of Humanitarian Immigration in Los Angeles,” received scrutiny from Senator Josh Hawley for allegedly supporting illegal activities during these riots. This group managed to secure over $50 million in federal and state grants under the Biden administration.
Notably, Bill Gates has reconsidered his relationship with Arabella, having previously channeled $450 million through the network since 2008.
Other groups under Arabella’s oversight, like the 1630 Fund and the New Venture Fund, are also facing scrutiny due to their connections.
Funding for Palestinian causes has been another aspect of this network. According to Schweizer, the Tides Foundation has contributed over $22 million to various initiatives, including those linked to the Jewish voice for peace and other organizations that have engaged in or supported protests, some of which have turned violent.
He mentions that while many of these organizations may not have been involved in violent protests, some clearly were. He specifically references groups that have engaged in violent protests against police facilities in Georgia and those reportedly financing attacks against Tesla dealers in opposition to Elon Musk’s actions.
