While many of us complain about the depravity and wokeness that pervades our favorite Hollywood shows and movies, some are taking matters into their own hands.
And “Mr. Burcham,” a new show produced by The Daily Wire and starring comedian Adam Carolla, is doing just that.
Lauren Chen is critical of the show itself, but she’s glad it exists for that reason.
“I think it’s a good thing to have conservatives and right-wingers like the people at The Daily Wire participating in creating entertainment media,” Chen said, adding, “They do that all the time.”
Chen thinks this should encourage more right-wing and conservative studios to produce their own shows, but he’s not a big fan of this particular show.
“Also, I don’t want to say it’s good just because it aligns with my political views when, frankly, I don’t actually think it’s funny,” Chen explains.
“This is the type of show that proves that even if you’re a conservative or right-wing person who often complains that modern films and TV shows are too political, if you happen to like ‘Mr. Bircham’ then the issue isn’t actually that entertainment media is too political, but that the messages being forced upon you happen to disagree with your views,” she added.
So if you really hate politics intruding into your entertainment, no matter what it is, then the show may not be for you.
“Personally, I just take the approach that I don’t think it’s necessarily a good thing for a conservative network to actually broadcast entertainment media that is only targeted to conservatives,” Chen explained, adding, “I just don’t think it’s a good business move to seriously compete with Hollywood and put out productions that are going to immediately alienate at least 50% of the population.”
