The left has been branding Donald Trump a racist for years, but even some liberals are realizing that couldn't be further from the truth.
“What do you think black people think about Trump, is he a racist? Yeah, but they think all white people are some kind of racist. , do we think white people talk like Trump behind closed doors?'' Bill Maher asked Stephen A. Smith about the “Club Random'' episode.
“That's the last part,” Smith replied excitedly. “Being a black man, I don't look at white people and automatically think they're racist because they're different than me, because they think differently than me, because they come from a different cultural background. You automatically know you’re coming and you’re having a different experience.”
“So that second part is really important, because when we talk about the way Trump speaks, we say, 'So this is the first time he's spoken like that as president. ’” Smith continued.
“We know better than that. We know it's not the first time, and the people he's been friends with for years, we know he talked the same way around you. I know. You are not without problems. Stop acting like there are problems,” he added.
Smith even admitted that Trump was “friendly right up until he ran for president.”
“To be completely honest, all my brothers thought he was cool,” he added.
The Rubin Report's Dave Rubin already knows this about President Trump, and is unimpressed by Maher's reversal.
“They're having a little fight over whether or not Donald Trump is a racist, and then all of a sudden Bill Maher starts saying he's not a racist. Well, Bill, I love you. But if you do a little digging, you'll probably find 50 videos of you linking him to Hitler or Nazis or white supremacists,” Rubin says.
