Isabel Tate, Star of “9-1-1: Nashville,” Dies at 23

Isabel Tate, known for her role in “9-1-1: Nashville,” has tragically passed away at just 23 years old.

She died on Sunday, though the specific cause of death hasn’t been shared publicly.

Reports indicate that she had been battling a rare, progressive neuromuscular disease which left her wheelchair-bound. According to her agent, this illness impacted her legs and had the potential to affect her heart and lungs as well.

Her representative mentioned that she passed away peacefully in her sleep.

On Wednesday, the McCray Agency from Nashville expressed their sorrow on Facebook, stating, “We are extremely sad and completely heartbroken to share that Isabelle Tate passed away on October 19th. She was 23 years old.”

The post reflected on her journey, noting, “I’ve known Izzy since she was a teenager, and she recently returned to acting. She landed the first series she auditioned for, which was ‘9-1-1: Nashville.’ She had a great experience.”

Tate grew up in Nashville and her role as Julie in the pilot episode was her first major acting opportunity.

The show featured a cast including Chris O’Donnell, Leigh-Anne Rimes, and Hunter McVeigh, and it’s the latest spin-off in the Ryan Murphy-produced “9-1-1” franchise, which follows fictional first responders across different cities (the original was set in Los Angeles with Angela Bassett and Jennifer Love Hewitt, while “9-1-1: Lone Star” took place in Texas and starred Rob Lowe).

“9-1-1: Nashville” focuses on various first responders, such as Fire Department Captain Don Hart (played by O’Donnell) and his estranged son, Blue (McVeigh). Tate portrayed a woman attending a bachelorette party who learns dancing from Blue, a firefighter with a past as a stripper.

Her obituary revealed that she had a passion for volunteering, especially with animals. It described her as someone whose idea of a great time would be visiting animal shelters to spread love.

She was characterized as an “aspiring actress,” vibrant, passionate, and a fighter who never made excuses for her disabilities.

The obituary also mentioned her musical talent, highlighting the time she spent writing and recording songs with friends.

“Her sister was her best friend, and her mother was her shining light,” it stated.

Isabel Tate is survived by her mother, Katerina Kazakos Tate; stepfather, Vishnu Jayamohan; father, John Daniel Tate; and sister, Daniela Tate.
