Islanders’ Anthony Duclair exits with apparent leg injury

The Islanders' star summer signing could be sidelined for a while.

Anthony Duclair came off the ice without weight on his right foot during the third period of Saturday's game against the Canadiens.

Duclair appeared to twist and fall awkwardly during a power play, casting a dark cloud over the events at UBS Arena.

Duclair, who signed a four-year, $14 million contract this summer, has already scored three goals in the first four games this season and has developed chemistry on the top line with Bo Horvat and Matt Barzal.

After signing Duclair to complete the trio, the Islanders were optimistic they would have a high-end scoring line for the first time in a while.

Duclair has missed time due to injury in the past, and was limited to just 20 games with the Panthers in 2022-23.

Now he could be in similar danger again.
