War in Lebanon expected to stop within hours due to ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on Tuesday that his cabinet would recommend approval of a proposed ceasefire agreement with Hezbollah, with a vote expected later that day.

Hezbollah is expected to withdraw its troops and heavy weapons to the Litani River, about 20 miles from the Israeli border.

A source in Netanyahu's office told CBS News earlier Tuesday that the prime minister had convened the country's security cabinet to discuss the proposal. The Cabinet must approve the ceasefire agreement. Netanyahu also held talks in Tel Aviv on Tuesday with various ministers, parliamentarians and mayors from several northern towns that have been evacuated for months.
