Israeli evaluation: US attacks have delayed Iran's nuclear program by 'many years'

US Strikes Affecting Iran’s Nuclear Capabilities

Israel’s recent assessment suggests that the US has carried out strikes that significantly impacted Iran’s nuclear program, which has been in development for years. The Israeli Atomic Energy Commission stated that these strikes have destroyed critical infrastructure at the Fordow nuclear facility, rendering it unusable.

They noted, “The recent US strike at Fordow has devastated essential infrastructure, making the enrichment facilities inoperable. This attack, in conjunction with Israel’s actions against various aspects of Iran’s military nuclear initiatives, has greatly diminished the capabilities of Iran’s Nuclear Weapons Commission to produce nuclear arms. If Iran lacks access to necessary nuclear materials, this setback could persist for an extended period.”

It’s reported that on June 22, the US targeted multiple nuclear sites in Iran — most notably using a 30,000-pound bomb from a B-2 stealth bomber at the underground Fordow site. This is a significant step, considering that Fordow has been the focal point of Iran’s enrichment activities.

Following these strikes, Israeli forces targeted additional sites, including a road leading to underground facilities and the infamous Evin prison, as part of ongoing efforts to weaken Iran’s military capacity.

Israel’s actions coincide with statements from Iranian officials, who acknowledge severe damage to their nuclear infrastructure. Iran’s nuclear chief, Mohammad Eslami, mentioned that efforts are underway to assess the full extent of the damage and strategize on restoring their facilities, emphasizing a commitment to resume operations without interruptions.

Both President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have expressed a firm stance against any attempts by Iran to rebuild its nuclear program, hinting at possible consequences should that occur.
