Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations recently shared some eye-opening remarks about a peculiar phone call he received from Tucker Carlson during a tense period in the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Danny Danon, who is currently in his second term as Israel’s UN representative, recounted this unusual interaction while speaking at the Jewish Policy Center.
Carlson, the former Fox News host known for his controversial stance against anti-Semitism, reached out to Danon with an odd request. He asked to be “taken off the list.”
Danon was taken aback by the direction of Carlson’s inquiries and sought clarification. “He said to me, ‘Maybe you have like a list because I’m being attacked by Jews. Can you take me off the list?'” Danon recalled.
In response, Danon took the opportunity to explain to Carlson why he was facing backlash amidst the conflict. “I told him, ‘Mr. Carlson, we don’t have a list. You’re being attacked because you’re spreading lies and bloody defamation of soldiers,'” he stated.
He added, “You’re spreading anti-Semitism. You’re under fire because you’re aligning with anti-Semites.”
Carlson has previously featured controversial figures such as Nazi sympathizer Nick Fuentes and Holocaust denier Candace Owens on his platforms.
When their conversation came to a close, Danon suggested, somewhat tongue-in-cheek, that they might consider creating a list to track individuals who promote hate online. “Maybe it’s time to publish a list of people who promote anti-Semitism online,” he noted. “We must push back against this, as it won’t go away on its own.”
He emphasized the need to be vigilant, saying, “It’s going to happen to us too, and it’s cruel. This is war, and we have to stand up and fight.”
Some organizations, like the Canary Mission, have already compiled lists targeting those they deem anti-Semitic, often focusing on individuals involved in pro-Palestinian movements within academic and medical fields.
Additionally, the organization Stop Antisemitism presents an annual award for “Antisemitism of the Year,” which Carlson received in 2025.
