It sure sounds like Chiefs GM knows what Travis Kelce’s retirement plan is

Indianapolis – There is no need to write a farewell song about Traviskells and the Chiefs yet.

The first major clue that Kelce can postpone retirement, Chiefs general manager Brett Vech said Tuesday he hopes the Hall of Fame tight end will return in 2025. I did.

“The way we left it at the end of the season is that he was fired,” Veach said when asked in a 2025 NFL Scouting Combine post.

“He's been on his contract for another year. I think he still has a desire to play with that fire. As far as I'm concerned, there's no deadline (for decisions). He's back. So I think we left it behind. And we're excited to get him back and get him moving.”

Kelse rarely shut down speculation that he could retire after his final game and enjoy life as a media personality during the lead-up to Super Bowl 2025 – his brother Jason Like his first year after his retirement from the Eagles – and pop star Taylor Swift.

Perhaps the Chiefs' failed bid for three peats changed Kelce's mind.

He said on the New Heights podcast he's connecting Jason with “crazy decisions” and “takes time to understand it,” so he says he won't be “half a size” next season. I stated.

“At this point, get out of town and relax,” coach Andy Reed said of Kelse's plans. “For now, that's what he's doing.”

Kelce will receive a $4.5 million salary and a $11.5 million roster bonus on March 14th, as well as a $1 million roster bonus on the fifth day of training camp.

“Hopefully he has a magical season to end his magical career,” Veach said.
