Black Lives Matter Plaza in Washington, DC, was a divisive “stain” in the city, and the lawmaker Andrew Clyde (R-GA) who caused its removal. Breitbart News Daily.
Clyde walked the way the demolition of Black Life Matter Plaza became a reality, and Washington Mayor introduced a bill that essentially said “BLM Plaza needs to be removed or 50% of transportation funds will be cut.”
“That would be a savings of about $160 million. You know what I learned here in Washington. No one will respond to anything unless you threaten the money supply. And money is leverage, so you use that leverage. And literally, in 24 hours, Mayor Bowser fell into it,” he said.
“She admitted, she said, “Okay, we're going to delete the BLM Plaza. Fighting isn't on my priority list. You know, we're worried about this incredible loss of funds, and all these people have lost their federal jobs due to the restructuring of administrative agencies under President Trump. And she literally fell into that moment and said they're going to get rid of it, and they're going to put some sort of mural to celebrate our country's 250th anniversary.
“That organization is a radical left-wing reduction organization that has no business that has not been promoted in the capital in one block in front of the White House, particularly the one block in front of the Washington, D.C. It's a stain on the city. It needs to be removed. And she's been removed when we speak now,” he said. Host Mike Slater pointed out that President Donald Trump is sharing clips of the demolition.
Clyde explained that when Plaza sends a message from DC's division, it would need to send a uniform message.

“It's been dirty since I came to DC in 2021. It's okay. It's been a problem for me. And I think there's a way to get rid of it, you know. It's never happening under a Democrat administration. The President knows that Biden will never sign. The Democrat Senate never passed it. But here we have a Republican trilogy, and this is now an opportunity and we're trying to make the most of it,” the lawmaker continued.
“The Democrats are totally confused. They don't have a message now, President Trump has broken them. Trump Mad Syndrome is real, you know, catching more Democrats and more Democrats. And this is the time to do that, use it and help us get our country back on track,” he said.
