Trump Signs Bill to Release Epstein Files
On Wednesday night, President Donald Trump announced he had signed a bill aimed at releasing more files on Jeffrey Epstein. He remarked that the Democrats’ current focus on Epstein, particularly his connections to former President Bill Clinton and ex-Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, is likely to “backfire.”
Trump made the announcement via Truth Social, stating that Clinton had flown on Epstein’s planes a total of 26 times, and noted that Summers had retreated from public life after recent revelations.
Jeffrey Epstein, who was indicted by the Trump Justice Department in 2019, was a lifelong Democrat and had donated extensively to Democratic politicians. His ties to notable Democrats include Bill Clinton, who flew on Epstein’s plane multiple times, and Larry Summers, who has recently stepped down from several board positions. Additionally, political activist Reid Hoffman and Democratic Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett have been mentioned in relation to Epstein. I think it’s possible the truth about these affiliations might soon come to light since I’ve just signed the bill to release Epstein’s files.
The bill received overwhelming support, passing the House with a vote of 427-1 and later the Senate unanimously.
“As everyone knows, I asked Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune to push this bill through their respective chambers. My request led to near-unanimous support,” Trump mentioned.
He also noted, “The Department of Justice has already handed over nearly 50,000 pages of documents to Congress at my direction. It’s crucial to remember that the Biden administration hasn’t provided any files related to the Democrat Epstein or addressed him at all.”
Trump suggested that Democrats are using the Epstein issue to divert attention from Republican achievements, particularly in light of the recent government shutdown where Democrats ultimately conceded to demands.
Democrats are leveraging the “Epstein” matter, which could reflect more negatively on them than on Republicans, as a way to distract from our great successes: a significant tax cut, stronger national borders, and other notable reforms. They’ve crafted narratives around Russia and Ukraine, as well as numerous impeachments, all designed to divert focus from the beneficial initiatives of the Republican Party during my administration.
In closing, Trump expressed his belief that the release of these files would prove detrimental to the Democratic Party. “This latest wave of misinformation will likely backfire on them, just as it has before! Thank you for focusing on this issue,” he declared.
