Italian Woman Accused of Attempted Murder After Hitting Child

A 24-year-old woman from Italy, named Camilla D’Alessandra, is facing serious accusations following an incident in Turin over the weekend. Reports claim she attempted to run over her ex-boyfriend with her vehicle but instead struck his five-year-old son, prompting an investigation into attempted murder.

The event took place late Saturday night in the San Donato area of Turin. At that moment, the young boy was walking alongside his father and a family friend when D’Alessandra allegedly swerved her car with the intention of hitting the man, inadvertently hitting the child instead.

Witnesses at the scene managed to jot down the license plate of her vehicle before she drove away. Fortunately, officers from Turin’s Carabinieri mobile patrol unit located and apprehended D’Alessandra shortly after the incident.

The child’s father, who is described by Italian public broadcaster Rai News as being of Moroccan descent, confirmed to the police, “She’s my ex.”

In the wake of the incident, the child was rushed to Sant’Anna Regina Margherita Children’s Hospital, where he remains hospitalized. While he suffered a fracture in his abdomen, thankfully, his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

According to media reports, it seems there may have been personal issues between D’Alessandra and the boy’s father, which could have contributed to the end of their relationship. The woman’s lawyer, Cristian Scaramozzino, emphasized her denial of hitting the child and questioned claims that she fled immediately after the incident.

He commented, “We can’t completely dismiss the possibility of it being an accident; it does seem odd that her ex-partner’s son was involved, but we still need to verify the details.”

Furthermore, Scaramozzino mentioned that understanding her relationship with the child’s father is crucial, as well as determining if anyone else was in the car at the time—maybe a friend or a new boyfriend. He also shared that the accused woman’s mother contacted her upon hearing the police were involved since she owns the vehicle in question. According to the attorney, D’Alessandra told her mother, “I didn’t hit the child.” He plans to accompany his client to her court hearing scheduled for Monday.
