Sen. Lindsey Graham Responds to Jim Comey’s Indictment

During a recent episode of “Sunday Morning Futures” on FNC, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) shared his thoughts on the indictment of former FBI director James Comey, which was reported earlier in the week. Republican voices in South Carolina characterized it as “a long postponement.”

Host Maria Bartiromo asked Graham, “What is your response to Jim Comey’s indictment?” He replied, “I believe it’s taken a considerable amount of time to hold someone accountable for what I see as the most corrupt investigation in U.S. history—Crossfire Hurricane. This is just the beginning. Now, Comey is in a position where he’s presumed guilty unless proven innocent. If I were in the Justice Department, I would secure the best legal representation available.” Graham pointed out that the investigation began in July 2016, based on the premise that Donald Trump was somehow a Russian agent, claiming he had a bizarre experience in Russia. There were allegations of collusion to disrupt the 2016 election.

“In July 2016, they secured five warrants against Carter Page, who was an American citizen allegedly connected to this supposed plot. What’s interesting is that Hillary Clinton’s campaign initiated a narrative linking Trump to Russia to divert attention from the email server scandal. Comey received a significant note from the intelligence community on September 7, 2016. I questioned him about it in 2020,” Graham remarked.

He further added, “Can you even imagine? The Republican candidate for president had a note from the CIA suggesting that it was his opponent who was kickstarting this investigation, and yet the FBI took no action? Steele, who was paid by Hillary Clinton, sought a warrant through two FBI agents in January 2017.”
