‘It’s Been Life-Changing’: Country Star Colt Ford Praises God for Surviving Death Twice

Country-rap musician Colt Ford recently said it’s to the glory of God that he survived a second heart attack last month. “The Lord wanted me to do more, make more music, and hopefully make more of a difference in some people’s lives,” Ford said. He said this in an interview on May 23rd. interview on the syndicated radio show “Big D & Bubba.” “My life changed. It changed me mentally. It changed me physically, obviously.”

Ford, 54, suffered a heart attack on April 5 after performing at the Dierks Bentley Whiskey Row venue in Gilbert, Arizona, and later died in the intensive care unit of Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona. It blew back.

“God couldn’t have put me in a better place,” the country artist said.

Although he survived, doctors said Ford must prioritize his health as he continues his recovery.

On the night of the incident, Ford said she only remembers texting her fiance on the way back to the bus.

“I walked back to the bus, texted my fiancé, ‘Hello, baby,’ and collapsed and died,” he said. “I died twice. Luckily my band came to check on me.”

Ford also said that if he had suffered a heart attack elsewhere, he likely would not have received the medical care he needed to survive. While in the ICU, the musician called on the public to pray for him.

He was diagnosed with eye cancer in 2021, which he says has changed his outlook on life.

“I had a lot of friends asking, ‘Why didn’t you tell me?'” Colt said. people at that time. “But I thought everyone was dealing with a lot of stress and stuff.”

“I thought…I could have killed myself with all the stupid things I’ve done, but is this going to save me?” he added.

“I know God will never put anything on you that you can’t handle, but maybe He trusts me more than I realize.”

Although Colt was able to overcome cancer through surgery and chemotherapy, he was later diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune disease. This disease is a rare chronic autoimmune disease characterized by muscle weakness without atrophy.

Myasthenia primarily affected the face, eyes, and throat.

“It didn’t really affect my throat, but it really affected my eyes,” Ford told Taste of Country last May.

”[I] I couldn’t control my right eye. It really impairs vision,” he added.

“I could see perfectly with either eye, but when I looked at them together, I could see the three of you, melting together like a lava lamp.”
