MSNBC contributor and former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri) told “Deadline” on Monday that it’s “absolutely crazy” that some educated people don’t see how hopeless and sick former President Donald Trump is.
“This split screen is incredible,” said McCaskill. “On one side you see the lies, the name-calling and the dark stuff. Our country is falling apart, our country is hell, our country sucks, everything about our country is awful, we’re awful, we’re so terrible. Now, think of all the nice names you can call other people. And on the other side you see the smiles and the laughter. I mean, you see the energy of Tim Waltz. It’s spilling out of him. No container can contain the energy you feel on the other side. Americans are relieved that someone else has the words, the optimism, the opportunity, the ambition, the problem-solving.”
She added: “The more Trump digs a hole, the more the crowd repeats their crazy drivel about it being AI. I mean, I mean, why did these businessmen support this guy? What should the Pentagon do about the fact that they’re buying satellites from Elon Musk? It seems really crazy to me that there are educated people out there who don’t see how desperate and sick Donald Trump really is.”
