Democratic strategist James Carville said Friday on MSNBC's “The Beat” that Democrats have no choice but to let President Donald Trump “desperate.”
Carville said, “I mean, he just says whatever he wants to say. I mean, Delta Smelt has nothing to do with this, but how many episodes do you have to read that he's just going to keep plowing on? Okay, and the Democrats just let him beat himself up, so we did. Remember, this was a little before your time, but people of my generation remember Muhammad Ali and his ropes very much. We'll just let you do six or seven rounds, and then you come in and match up, and then you start firing bombs.”
He continued, “It's hard to just sit here and watch. Greenland, Canada, the Panama Canal Zone, the Delta Smelt, you name it. But you just have to keep swaying and weaving and swaying and weaving. But the important thing is that his number one promise, the biggest political promise of this generation, is that he's going to lower food prices. There's nothing we can do.” Of course, the eggs are about $4 and 12. ”
“He keeps distracting us, he keeps distracting us, but we're going to come back and we're going to straddle this target and get it within range, I don't think it's going to be long,” Carville said. ” concluded.
