There’s been a fierce debate about what’s wrong with Joe Biden and whether it’s why he should step down as the Democratic presidential nominee.
He and his owner say there are no problems with him other than old age and a decline in his walking rate.
Most Americans and leading Democrats are more cautious.
He’s nearly 82, but his slurred speech and unnatural body movements suggest signs of aging, or worse, the early stages of a variety of neurological disorders.
They will meet with the leader of the free world, but only between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
They don’t think he should run for reelection because they don’t think he’s healthy enough to win.
It remains to be seen whether Joe Biden will ultimately succumb to pressure within his party and drop out of the race.
One thing we can say with absolute certainty is that if he had been the CEO of a publicly listed company rather than the CEO of a country, the situation would have been very different.
Biden’s medical condition is expected to be made public as required by law.
He would have been forced to resign years ago when he first showed clear signs that he wasn’t right, not after his disastrous performance in the recent debates.
Unlike Vice President Kamala Harris, Biden’s top adviser, and the spokespeople who have covered up Biden’s health problems, executives and directors who lied about the principal’s illness would face a range of civil and even criminal penalties.
They have a legal “fiduciary” duty to keep people who hold their company’s stock informed of events that have the potential to move the market – so-called “significant events”.
The CEO’s health is one big issue.
“If the CEO gave a speech or engaged in similar behavior during a meeting, the board would meet within hours to find new leadership, which is a very tough task,” one corporate executive and Biden ally told me.
And that’s the law.
Yes, I know, being a president is very different from being a CEO running a company.
The president swears an oath to uphold the Constitution, while the CEO, his management team and the board of directors swear to comply with the country’s securities laws.
Still, it seems a bit odd that public shareholders (those who own shares in a corporation) have more legal rights and disclosure rights when it comes to the health of those protecting their investments than the American public has when it comes to the health of those responsible for protecting our country.
Council of Elders
Biden’s staff, wife and family have been whitewashing the truth about the President’s health all day long (and they have), misrepresenting every neurologist’s visit in recent months, denying the obvious facts about his physical strength, and essentially (until recently) gaslighting the American public with the help of the Washington press corps.
This is very surprising to securities lawyers and CEOs (including Biden supporters) because they are just running companies, and Biden is running an entire country.
Remember that Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan, arguably the most successful CEO of this generation, not only disclosed heart problems in 2020, but also had throat cancer a few years ago.
Dimon survived both, and those who knew him know that he was in much better physical and mental health than the current occupant of the White House.
Non-democratic parties
Given Biden’s physical condition, many are skeptical not only about whether he could survive another four years if re-elected, but also whether he could withstand the rigors of the 2024 presidential election.
This is a scandal that is only just beginning to emerge, with most of the mainstream media being exposed and embarrassed for ignoring the signs of Biden’s deteriorating health.
They feared it would lead to their worst nightmare: the election of the monster known as Donald Trump.
They also deprived the American people of a presidential candidate who actually won the primary election.
If Biden steps down, Harris or one of several other potential successors would be chosen by the party’s elites at its convention next month.
Joe Biden’s personal struggles are often forgotten amid political maneuvering, but it’s sad to see him suffer.
There is growing speculation that Biden has Parkinson’s disease, a neurological disorder that causes patients to slur their speech, have difficulty walking and, in the final stages, lose control over their movements.
My father, a construction worker, suffered various head injuries on the job and suffered from severe depression, so I have experienced this illness myself.
He died six years after his diagnosis, aged just 54.
Many people with Parkinson’s disease don’t suffer from dementia — their affliction is a cognitive malfunction, such as not being able to pronounce words properly or to move correctly when the brain sends signals to the nervous system.
It’s frustrating to be trapped in a body that has suffered such trauma.
It explains why Biden quickly becomes angry and appears frozen.
And certainly it is a scandal that Biden has been allowed to continue this farce by telling the American people layer upon layer of lies.
Would his family, his cabinet or the vice president step in or would lawmakers invoke or call on the 25th Amendment to put a stop to what amounts to elder abuse?
If Joe Biden were CEO, they would have to do that or they could go to jail.
