Republican presidential candidate Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) appeared on Fox News Channel's “Your World” on Friday, where former President Donald Trump and former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-South Carolina) were both available for discussion. He said it was “strange” that they were not trying.
DeSantis said, “I've been here in New Hampshire for days since Iowa. I'm basically the only one not running a basement campaign. I'm taking questions from the media. I'm doing city hall. Today. There are two more. I've done live broadcasts on CNN. I've committed to doing both debates. I was scheduled to do one last night on ABC/WMUR and one on CNN on Sunday. Neither of us are going to do that. It's just weird.”
He added, “This is a first in the nation, and it's a tradition that voters take seriously. They ask you questions. It's a tradition to have a debate here. There's always a debate going on in New Hampshire. In fact. , Ronald Reagan, 1980, “I'm paying for that microphone, Mr. Green.” It happened here. So a lot of it is just media coverage and paid advertising, and I don't think there are that many candidates who are going to be there and answer questions. But I think I owe it to you. So here we are. We are looking forward to hosting two great events tonight. ”
DeSantis added, “We're not spending a lot of money here. Nikki Haley is spending an exorbitant amount of money here.
