The following content is Americans who support limited government.
Conventional political wisdom teaches that when the economy deteriorates, the party in power pays the price. James Carville owes his wealth and fame to these words:It’s the economy, idiot.” That led his team to victory 32 years ago, but we live in very unconventional times. Will Democrats pay the price for their disastrous economic policies this year?
They have given us tremendous growth. crude oil priceout of reach housingdevastating grocery prices, and on and on. The Biden administration’s unprecedented inflation is eroding the ability of middle-class Americans to get ahead and the ability of poor Americans to survive.
In this context, Democrats claim they have a solution to the problem they created. The Biden administration’s signature domestic “achievement” was the so-called anti-inflation law. (IRA) helped propagate the worst inflation in recent American history.
For the past three years, leading left-wing media outlets have been reporting on Biden’s disastrous economic policies. At one point, the Biden sycophants on CNN literally wrote: heading“Why Inflation Is Actually Good for Ordinary Americans and Bad for the Rich,” says MSN. claimed that “Bidenomics will make America great forever!”
This kind of Ministry of Truth-level propaganda is intense, but the facts speak for themselves. Inflation is terrible for ordinary people, and it has been terrible under the current Democratic administration.
And in addition to destroying ordinary people’s ability to pay for oil, housing, and food, Democrats are now setting their sights on health care.
The IRA includes measures that allow the government to control the price of some prescription drugs for seniors under Medicare. In fact, one provision allows the government to designate 10 Medicare drugs as subject to government-controlled price “negotiations.” If businesses do not accept price controls, they will be forced to pay a 95 percent excise tax on everyone who purchases their products, not just through Medicare.
That means either there are government price controls or there are taxes that almost double the price of some medicines.
This effort to reduce the cost of prescription drugs will cause inflation to rise, just as the Inflation Control Act caused inflation to rise. And it appears the Biden administration will do more than just do this for drugs for seniors under Medicare.
Biden in his State of the Union address Declaration of war About everyone’s prescription drugs. Without sharing any details, Biden offered a poignant anecdote about a 13-year-old boy with diabetes, but said, “Let’s cap the cost of insulin at $35 a month so everyone can afford it. It’s going to stay strong. And in the meantime, let Medicare negotiate lower prices on prescription drugs, like the Veterans Administration already does.”
So this threat will only get worse. The IRA Act requires the government to impose this 95 percent tax on up to 60 types of medicines for older people. This is nothing but extortion, as the government requires pharmaceutical companies to provide their products to the government for free.
Instead of good faith negotiations, the only possible outcomes of this government pricing scheme are current drug shortages and, more worryingly, cuts to future research and development budgets. So a miracle drug is no longer on the horizon. Democrats want everyone to think they are Robin Hood, stealing money from the rich and giving to the poor, when in reality they are stealing money from everyone and giving to themselves and the insurance companies. They save up for their cronies and hand out crumbs to farmers…who should really do that? Shall we be more grateful?
In case you weren’t worried enough about this, the Internal Revenue Service is committed to making sure they get this pound of flesh from each of us. With a new cadre of 87,000 door-kick agents, expect them to collect this sales tax at local pharmacies. However, as a concession to transparency, the IRS allows businesses to charge the 95% tax as a separate item on their receipts. So at least we’ll all know who to blame.
Inflation is disrupting the lives of ordinary people, and too many articles say:the american dream is over” for hyperlinks. So we just do Search results for. Essentials like energy, housing, food, and medicine are now out of reach for more and more people, and the November election can’t come soon enough for most of us. Those who made our economy more expensive are stupid, but will they pay the price at the voting booth?
