political forces are lining up behind donald trump and joe biden. It’s time to submit.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) said this after the nation’s first primary election following the Iowa caucuses. “It is past time for the Republican Party to unite around President Trump.” Democratic incumbent Biden was able to defeat Dean Phillips. through a write-in campaign. It’s still too early, but the duopoly appears to have finished talks, leaving voters with a choice. I don’t actually want it.

It’s time for voters to take back power.

In 1948, the Democratic Party and the Republican Party were out of touch with the people. The Democratic Party was entrenched in white supremacy, and the Republican Party was tied to corporate America. The white middle class and black Americans were not represented. At the time, the political establishment did not realize this, but harry truman did. While running for president, he boldly embraced civil rights and delivered an honest message to the nation.

Harry Truman grew up as a farmer in Independence, Missouri. His Southern upbringing and political heroes Andrew Jackson and Robert E. Lee shaped his views on race in America. But Truman was a man who was always learning and growing. As president at the end of World War II, Truman witnessed firsthand the sacrifices made by soldiers. When Truman returned home and saw African American men being beaten and treated like second-class citizens, Truman had a change of heart. He believed it was his duty as President, Commander-in-Chief, and Secretary to stand up and make change for all Americans.

Truman saw the Democratic Party as living in the past. As a keen student of history and Jacksonian democracy, he knew what he had to do. The time for reform has come.

Democratic leaders from the past split and formed the Democratic Party. Dixiecrat. They forced Truman out, but instead of giving up, he took his message directly to the nation on a whistleblowing tour. Result is, upset of the century than the highly favored Republican candidate. Thomas E. Dewey And the beginning civil rights era.

The civil rights movement was a continuation of the founding idea that “all men are created equal.” It was a reform movement. It secured the right to vote, and therefore representation, for all Americans. What Harry Twoman harnessed was people power. He reached out to underrepresented citizens and in doing so reformed the party.

The truth is, even in November, people still have a choice and they don’t have to be at the mercy of the establishment. American democracy should be about the people going to their representatives in Congress, not when the president goes to the people.

People who fear the end of democracy should take the reins into their own hands. While the presidential candidates offered by each party are elite, older, and unrelated to most Americans, there are now congressional candidates across the country who are more representative of their communities. Citizens should find them, talk to them, volunteer, donate, and support them in the spring primary and fall general election.

We can and should build government from the bottom up rather than the top down.

As of the end of 2023, the parliamentary approval rate was 15%. Americans don’t trust their leaders. The people are discouraged by the concentration of power in political parties, businesses, and political organizations. This makes it difficult to represent individual citizens and families.

Power shifts from the executive branch to Congress as the public focuses instead on the candidates for Congress. Citizen participation at the local level transfers power from the actors to the people. It harnesses the power of national representation. It ensures that the political system does not receive orders from the people to do what they want (often nothing). It empowers people. Tell the person in charge to get serious or quit.

By nominating Biden and Trump, the political establishment is saying that it is okay to tolerate the status quo of chaos, corruption, policy failure, and inaction because it will help them maintain power. But the American people are not like that. The American people want to be heard. It’s time for Americans to speak out.
