Ivanka Trump is expected to be at her father’s side as he accepts the Republican presidential nomination on Thursday, The Washington Post reported.
Days after Donald Trump was left near death on Saturday, Ivanka, 42, is due to fly to Milwaukee to join him at the Republican National Convention and watch his speech.
She will be accompanied by her husband, Jared Kushner, but as previously revealed, she will not have any official role at the convention.
Ivanka and her family live in Miami but stay at Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Trump was taken there after an assassination attempt was made during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
A source close to the family said Ivanka was “terrified” before speaking with her father on the phone.
The mother of three said Sunday that she believes her late mother was watching over Trump.
The shooting came nearly two years after Ivana, 73, was killed after falling down the stairs of her Upper East Side townhouse.
“Two years ago today, my mother passed away. I believe she was watching over my father when the assassination attempt occurred last night,” Ivanka wrote on social media.
“I miss her every day and pray for the safety of her family and friends who remain behind,” she added.
The Washington Post previously reported that Ivanka will not introduce or speak at this year’s convention because she retired from politics following her father’s tenure in the White House.
Earlier this month, she acknowledged in a new interview with podcaster Rex Friedman that politics is a “very tough business” and a “pretty dark world.”
Trump said he had rewritten his planned speech to focus on uniting the country.
The former president made his first public appearance since the shooting at the party convention on Monday night, appearing with a bandaged ear as the crowd chanted “fight!” – a phrase uttered by Trump after surviving an assassination attempt.
Also in attendance were his daughter Tiffany and her husband Michael Boulos, his eldest son Don Jr. and his fiancee Kimberly Guilfoyle, and his son Eric and his wife, Lara Trump, co-chair of the Republican National Committee.
The Washington Post reached out to a representative for former first lady Melania Trump, 54, who issued an emotional statement about the shooting and is scheduled to visit Milwaukee later this week.
