During an appearance on MSNBC's “Morning Joe” on Tuesday, longtime MSNBC personality Chris Matthews said former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) was the most “heroic” woman he had ever seen. “He is a great person,” he said.
“A few years ago, I think I would have been singing the praises of Mr. Cheney, a member of my family,” Matthews said. I didn't really like the Iraq war, and I didn't like the neocons either, and Cheney was leading them all, and he got us into that war, and it was Iraq. killed almost 200,000 people, and it didn't do any good. They had a bunker that was a barrier against Iran, and they removed it. Anyway, she's pretty much a character in a movie, A Man for All Seasons. I have never seen anyone as heroic as Liz Cheney. She lost her condition, perhaps forever. She lost the party. She lost leadership of the Republican House. Perhaps she was on her way to the Chairman. The probability was quite high. She gave up everything for the truth. That was what she represented.
He continued: Well, the one person behind her is Kamala Harris. The two women sitting together on that stage are remarkable. Because there's a lot of courage in Liz Cheney there. There's nothing I can say that will stop me from saying she was incredible. ”
Matthews added: “I also have something to say to the Democrats: If you're going to take advantage of her, pay her back when you take office.”
