Jack Campbell gives a hopeful update after a frightening neck injury

Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell says he is feeling optimistic as he recovers from the neck injury he suffered against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Campbell was hurt while making a tackle and remained on the field for several minutes before medical staff stabilized him and took him to a hospital for evaluation.

In an update shared Wednesday, Campbell said he has full movement in his lower body and is making progress with movement in his upper body. He acknowledged there is still work ahead, but said he is staying positive and taking recovery one day at a time.

Campbell thanked the trainers and medical personnel who helped him on the field, along with the staff at Henry Ford Hospital and the Lions’ medical team. He also expressed gratitude to his teammates, coaches, the organization, and people who have sent support to him and his family.

He said his faith remains strong and asked people to keep his family in their prayers. Campbell also described Detroit as a city built on toughness and resilience, qualities he plans to draw on as he faces the recovery ahead.
