Jack Schlossberg’s Campaign Manager Resigns
In a surprising turn, Jack Schlossberg’s campaign manager has stepped down just weeks after he launched his Congressional campaign.
Annabelle Lassally, who was brought on board to support Schlossberg in his bid for the Democratic primary in New York City’s 12th Congressional District, confirmed her departure from the campaign. It’s unclear what led to her resignation.
Lassally, whose experience includes time with Governor Cathy Hochul’s office, has updated her social media to reflect that she is no longer part of the Jack for New York campaign.
As of now, the campaign has not announced who will take over for Lassally.
In a recent statement, Schlossberg’s team expressed confidence, saying, “We continue to grow as the only campaign with a plan focused on local issues and progressive policies.” They also hinted at upcoming developments, noting, “We will be announcing our new campaign headquarters soon. All systems will be up and running!”
Schlossberg, the grandson of John F. Kennedy, declared last month that he wants to fill the seat being vacated by veteran Democratic congressman Jerry Nadler. At 32, he’s among a crowded field of candidates competing in affluent Manhattan neighborhoods.
Interestingly, Schlossberg earlier mentioned that he believes some controversies surrounding his social media presence won’t hinder his campaign. “I think some people may be confused by some of the posts, but they need to understand that there is a reason behind every post,” he explained.
He also mentioned that he feels voters appreciate his straightforward critiques of President Trump and his supporters, claiming he is willing to “take risks and move the ball forward on behalf of our party, even though no one asked me to, and even though I’m not the candidate.”
